Jimm Allen Roland, 65

November 25, 2024

Jimm Allen Roland, 65, of Manheim, was welcomed into the open arms of his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 25, 2024, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John and Jennie Weaver Roland. Jimm married Elizabeth Good Roland in 1986 and for 38 years they loved and laughed together. He obtained his Master of Divinity and began his career as the Director of Christian Education and Youth at Ephrata Church of the Brethren and later became the associate pastor at Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. For over 20 years Jimm was the lead Pastor at East Fairview Church of the Brethren where he was devoted to his congregation. After retirement he worked at Masonic Village in Landscaping and was currently working at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory as a funeral assistant. Jimm was a strong man of faith who loved his Savior, family and grandsons more than anything. He was an avid Philadelphia and Penn State fan. His attitude was never anything short of positive. Traveling to the beach and tending to his flower gardens and houseplants were where you could find Jimm in his free time.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Beth are two children, Rebekah wife of Ryan Scorza, Jeremy Roland, and two grandsons, Carson and Luke. Also surviving are his siblings, Jane Hurst and Jack Roland.

A Celebration of life for Jimm will be held at East Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, PA 17545 on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM. There will be a time of greeting with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may send contributions in Jimm’s memory to Kraybill Mennonite School, 598 Kraybill Church Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552.

Beth- I am so sorry for your loss of such a great husband, who was a man of faith and fabulous father and grandfather.  He invested into my life in his time at Ephrata COB and modeled what it means to be a caring pastor.   He always had a smile to share and looked people right in the eye… showing He was present with you.  May God be the comfort and strength to uphold you in the current and upcoming moments, hours, days, weeks, months, and years.

Hi Mrs Roland,Rebekah,and Jeremy
So sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved husband and father. We know God has a higher calling for Jimm of which he will be very well suited to serve. The days being involved in the Manheim basketball program is still very much in my heart and the Roland family was always at the top of my list. Treasure the times spent and memories with Jimm as I know you will.

Hi Beth, so so sorry to hear about your loss. Jim was a very special guy and I’m glad I got to know him personally and on the basketball court. I always had the most respect for your man, a great guy, possibly the kindest man I ever knew and I also knew his competitive side too. He will be missed by many and I know you’ll miss him tremendously. God bless you and tha family at this time but his spirit for life is unforgettable! With Love Tom

We are so very sorry to hear of Jimm’s passing. He will be missed by so many, but mostly his precious and loving family. His strength, faith, steadfastness, and calm demeanor were to be admired. We will miss his wisdom and ready smile. As our daughters are great friends, we also got to see the sporty side of Jimm, as he cheered Bekah and Abby on in basketball and soccer. Bekah couldn’t have asked for a more devoted fan. Jimm was so proud of his children and grands, and devoted to his dear wife, Beth. Even though we will all wish we could talk with him again, we know that heaven has welcomed him home with joy and singing. We are ever grateful to have had the chance to know him here on earth, even for a short time.
Praying for the family’s comfort and peace,
Mike and Lois Ann Reed
