Joan M. Hergenrother, 80
Joan M. Hergenrother, 80, formerly of 2186 Veumont Dr., died Monday at St. Anne’s Retirement Community, where she had been a resident.
She was the wife of Jerome A. Hergenrother of Millersville, with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage this past May 22nd. Born in Waltham, MA, Joan was the daughter of the late Frederick L.J. and Winifred Conroy Boulton.
She had been a homemaker and had formerly worked at Armstrong World Industries for 10 years at the payroll master after World War II. She had also worked part-time during the 1970s and 1980s at the Linen Hope Chest.
Joan was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where she had been an active volunteer. She was also a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School.
She also had volunteered with the Girls Scouts and in the gift shop of the former St. Joseph Hospital.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by a daughter, Ann L. Hergenrother of Annandale, NJ.
Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster on Thursday at 10AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Schreiber Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, 625 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
