Our Boxers Bennie and Jet were always excited to see Joani pulling up in the mail truck on Bowman Road. Her smile and love for the neighborhood animals shone through in every interaction we had with her. Even when we missed her, there were always dog biscuits left in the mailbox for our pups.  Our deepest condolences.  Jessica Ulmer

Just finding out about Joani today and our hearts are breaking.  She was our mail carrier and since working from home this last year I have gotten to know her and speak with her more.  We had been anticipating her return from her medical leave and a few weeks ago I saw her wave to me from afar.  I never imagined we wouldn’t get to speak again. Sending our deepest condolences.  She was a very special lady!  Doug and Carrie Lindell

I am so sorry for your loss… I have fond memories of Joani in high school, she was always very nice and  I always admired her for her cutting edge hair styles back then. Prayers to you all.

Joanie was our mail carrier and we enjoyed our conversations with her.  No matter where we saw her while we were out and about in the neighborhood, she would stop and give our dog ,Latte, a treat.  Latte even would recognize Joanie’s truck – and expect a treat –Joanie never disappointed her! If Joanie had a package for us – whether we were home or not – there was always a treat there for Latte.  Joanie was always so friendly and kind and it was such a shock to hear of her passing.  She was just a wonderful person and we will miss her a lot.  It was comforting to know that she had been ”searching” in these last couple weeks and that she is in the room that had been prepared for her.  We would always know when Joanie had delivered our mail — that truck would give her away!  But now the new truck is too quiet to let us know.  Our sincere condolences to all Joanie’s family and friends.  Sincerely, Doug and Barb Sutton

Joani was kind, caring, and extremely hard working. She preserved through long hours, intent on getting our mail to us, and cheerfully brought packages to the porch when most people would be grumbling.  I enjoyed talking with her.  I think many along her route did…which probably made her day even longer.  Please accept our deepest sympathy.  I know you are all proud of the life she lived.Bonnie and Bob Popdan

Joani was a special lady! She was our mail carrier. It was always a happy part of our day to interact with her! She was adored by all in our neighborhood – the dogs maybe most of all. The dogs in our neighborhood always started barking as soon as her truck came around the street. Joani was always ready to get out of her truck and shower them with treats and attention. MANY times we saw Joani turn her truck around to come back to see a dog she missed or who was let out a little too late. She spent so much extra time attending to her dog friends and sharing kind words and stories with the people on her route. We will miss her so much! There will be dogs barking every time that truck comes down our street which will make us a little sad but we will always remember Joani with a smile. We are so sorry for your loss, Ian. Your mother was a very special lady!

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family and dear friends of Joani.  I met Joani 9 years ago when A Girl and A Gun came to Trop Gun Shop and we have been shooting buds ever since.  She was my source of encouragement and reminded me at every stage “You Got This”.  For the last 3 years we also saw eye to eye and had conversations on many of the same world issues facing us today.  Our  local community and the shooting community has lost a very loving, caring, and supportive Friend-Daughter-Mother-Grandmother.  RIP my dear friend.   I will always remember you at every match and life event with the phrase “YOU GOT THIS JEAN”

We are so sorry for the loss of Joani, our sincere condolence to her family and all her friends including all the neighborhood fur babies that she loved so much. She was our wonderful mail carrier in Old Forge Crossing, Joani always took the time to pet the neighborhood dogs and give each one a treat; all the dogs will miss her love and treats!  We already miss her beautiful smile and friendly face along with her thoughtfulness of alway going above and beyond to deliver our packages/mail. She always let us know when she was going to be off stating she knew the fill-in person would do a great job while she was away.  Her kindness and positive attitude was incredible along with her love for animals. We enjoyed chatting with her briefly when she brought packages to our door and of course she loved to pet our dog before giving him a treat.  Heaven got a wonderful angel.  We will miss Joani!

Sharing a personal memory: I moved to LandisFarm in 2020 and immediately upon meeting her I could tell she was a special person.  Over the years she was so considerate, funny, and helpful- walking my pkgs to the door when necessary. When I had doves nesting in my front door wreath, she was SO careful not to disturb them, and we watched over the weeks as the chicks hatched and fledged.  There’ll never be another one like Joanie.  Sincere condolences, cannot imagine how much she will be missed.  Berni Stadler

Joani was our very special caring and excellent Mail Carrier who always went over and beyond the delivery of mail to our family.  She was always taking time to say “hi” and wave a “hi” and go out of her way to get out of the truck, up the driveway, to deliver a package or box that did not fit in the mailbox to our doorstep and always with a little treat for our dog.  Joani exuded love quietyly through her actions.  We will miss her so much.  We will feel her special spirit of kindness around us through her memorable smile and also through her Landisville Post Office co-workers.  We extend our prayers for strength to Joani’s family. God bless.

Joanie was my Mail Lady first & then became a friend! She had a heart of gold, & took time to check in w/ me ab my surgeries, cancer treatments & just life in general! She was a most KIND caring soul! She worked so very hard, & never complained ab it! We exchanged Holiday cards & I enjoyed offering her a small treat around Holidays. We shared being single early widows, & encouraged each other to “Hang in There!” She is & will continue to be sorely missed by me & our whole road of families! She was an exceptional person & I’m very sad 😢 she’s no longer here in body, but know her loving soul lives on! Huge Sympathy for her parents & son, & coworkers @ Landisville Post Office! Joanie will be greatly missed especially by our Aussie, Maggie. Joanie always made sure she greeted all the flurry neighbors in Scotland Estates before the humans. She had the sweetest disposition for a mail carrier. I hope Heaven appreciates her because she was taken from us before her time.

To Joani’s family and all who loved her as we did.  She was our mail carrier and a friend.  Whe walking our dog, if he saw her mail truck he would stop dead in his tracks and not move until she came by and she would always stop with a treat.  She would bring any packages we received to the front door and always love on our dog and give him treats.  She had a beautiful heart and will be missed by humans and doggie friends alike.

Joani will be missed greatly by my family, we got to know her over the years, as we were on her mail route. She would take short breaks and we’d talk. She loved our family dog and always had a biscuit for him. I liked surprising her with treats around the holidays. We’re sorry for your loss and please know you’re in our thoughts, especially her son & grandchildren. With love, Kaire High & family

Ian, Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin and the rest of Joani’s loving family – From Joani’s sisters in A Girl and a Gun, our deepest condolences somehow still seem inadequate.  Joani was one of our chapter’s founding members, and it will be difficult to not see her infectious smile at our events.  Her passing was way too early for such a shining light.
Many a weekend was spent with Joani and the rest of the “E-Town Five” from our chapter at local 3-gun matches (and in many states as well!), and we all had a blast.  Didn’t matter if we collectively couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn at arms’ length that day – we still had fun.  Joani’s “colorful” commentary on our shooting of a stage gone awry always kept us in stitches.
We will not forget our wonderful sister – her memory will keep a smile on our faces when we think of her.  This is a loss that truly hurts, and we will miss Joani’s presence.  Know that she was a wonderful person, friend and mentor.  We’ll all have a round of her favorite Honey Garlic Wings at The Lucky Duck after Girls’ Night Out.With Love and God Bless, Her Sisters of A Girl and a Gun
