Joanne Mellinger, 71

Joanne Mellinger, 71, of Lancaster passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Alvin K. and Edna M. (Denlinger) Mellinger.
She was a member of Neffsville Mennonite Church.
She was a graduate of Conestoga Valley High School.
Joanne was employed by UGI as an administrative assistant for over 35 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling on bus trips.
Joanne was a very humble, caring person and would do anything to serve others. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and also decorating their home.
She is survived by a brother, Gordon Mellinger, husband of Ruth of Strasburg and a sister, Mardel Mellinger, of Lancaster. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Judy G. Mellinger of Lancaster; 3 nieces, Pam Chan, wife of Dennis of Fishersville, VA, Rhonda Mellinger of Marinette, WI, Dawn Meck, wife of Ryan of Strasburg, and her great nieces and nephews, Emily, Jason and Isaac Chan and Kirsten, Kayla and Carter Meck. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald L. Mellinger.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA with Pastor Alan E. Miller officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8PM on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz and again one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment in Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster. Donations in Joanne’s memory may also be made to the Mennonite Disaster Service, 583 Airport Rd, Lititz, PA 17543.
