Joell Savonn Hernandez, 6
Joell Savonn Hernandez, 6, of Lancaster, was killed as a result of a car accident at the intersection of Schuylkill Avenue and Marshall Streets Saturday night. He was the son of Jewelette Brady and Ferdinand Hernandez. He has one surviving maternal brother, Jamias Hernandez, who he lived with all his life. On his paternal side, he had a brother, Anthony Hernandez and a sister, Luz Hernandez. Also surviving is a maternal grandmother, Paula R. Brady and maternal grandfather, Eddie Richardson, both of Lancaster; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joell attended the LRC before and after school program at Washington Elementary, where he was in the 1st grade. He was well liked in the community and by friends of all ages. He loved to play basketball, knock hockey and video games. He always enjoyed spending time with his older brother, Jamias. Joell was also known for telling jokes and doing voice impersonations. Joell was a very giving child. He gave away his toys to friends and always wanted to invite people over to eat. Mom called him “Sweetums” and always enjoyed those special big hugs. He was always a big help around the house.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday afternoon, May 31, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA with Brother Charles Dockett officiating. Interment will be in Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery.
