John befriended me at a little coffee shop in Lancaster in 2019. He was ever since a kind, considerate, and honest friend and I’m honored to have had him as part of my life. His energy and genuine words made him many friends in his life and I’m proud to say i was one of them. My condolences to his family and friends, I wish you all peace and joy as you carry your memories of John forward in life.

John was a great friend who will be dearly missed. He was there for me when no one else was, and I loved him like a brother or an uncle. I regret having been overseas during his passing, and I wish I could have seen him once more before he died.
My condolences to John’s sister, neice, and nephew. He always had good things to say about you all, and cherished spending time with you. God bless you all.

What a tremendous loss. I got to know John at McCaskey, class of 1980 and I when he worked at the store. John had such a gentle spirit and a kind heart. I was excited to hear of his academic achievement recently. I’ve only seen him once in the past year or so, but he will be missed.

I got to know John when I lived across the street from the family’s corner store on W. Chestnut St. in the ’90’s. I always enjoyed chatting with him and his wonderful sense of humor. Later, I enjoyed running into him downtown and when he would stop by The Framing Concept on N. Queen St. Enjoyed hearing about the classes he was taking and his many adventures! My condolences to his family and friends. You will be missed John!

I am so sorry for the family’s loss. Growing up I went to the store frequently and John was always so kind. When the store closed, I would occasionally run into him and he would always remember me, and then we would chat. Such a kind soul.
