John David Salamo

March 19, 2025

John David Salamo, 73, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Jorge and Fannie (Karr) Salamo. He was the loving husband to Carol Ann (Keebler) Salamo for 45 years.

John graduated from Augsburg American High School in 1970 in Augsburg, Germany. He enlisted in the US Navy and served honorably from 1971 to 1973. John worked as a machine operator for Donnelley, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed watching old movies, the sci-fi channel, and crime shows. He was a great cook and his favorite was lasagna, and finished the meal with a delicious cheesecake. Throughout his life, he traveled all over the world from his service, as well as his father’s service. He enjoyed fixing cars and cherished his dogs, Cody and Sammy.

In addition to his wife, Carol, John is survived by 3 daughters: Lisa Twyman (Calvin), Jessica Salamo, and Lindsey Salamo; 9 grandchildren: Jayvon, Jayden, Jayvion, Rachel, Preston, Phillip, Jaylin, Chanel, and Cierra; and brother Joe Salamo and sister Marilyn Stuckey.

A time to gather and remember John will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 9-11 AM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602. He will be laid to rest at Conestoga Memorial Park. Flowers are graciously accepted by the family.

John was my odest friend.  We were friends since we were five years old living in France.  John always kept in touch and I will miss him greatly.
