John F. Heymann, 54
March 17, 2022
John F. Heymann, 54, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Auguste M. (Witsch) Heymann and the late George B. Heymann.
A graduate of Lampeter Strasburg High School, class of 1985, John worked as a maintenance mechanic for Dart Container in New Holland. In his own words “Ha! To get insurance I am a mechanic 9 to 5. To feed my soul I am a musician/teacher, kayaker, bicycling nerd, and motorcycle adventurer. Plus I have a dog. The universe gave me lot of reasons.”
John will be greatly missed by the many friends he had found on life’s journey. His heart had plenty of room to love all he met and shenanigans were John’s specialty. He never missed an opportunity to make someone smile.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by 3 siblings: Franz Heymann, of Ephrata; Maria Weit, of New Port Richey, FL; and Catherine Leberfinger, wife of Robert, of Conestoga. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
John’s life will be celebrated at 3PM, Saturday, April 2, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A visitation will precede the service from 1PM to 3PM. John will be laid to rest with his father, George, in private graveside services at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.

John was a great friend for a year in Delaware, he was a great fan of music at that time and turned me onto some cool bands like the Ramones and Dead Milkmen who I still love, and remind me of John every time they come on. Thanks for the friendship.I hope you’re enjoying the highest trails above.
