Hard to believe it’s  been 3 years since my daddy passed on. There’s not a day that goes by I don’t think of him and look at all the family photos . My daddy was a very loving and giving man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Through the years prior to his passing we lost contact and it was dec 24th 2021 I called him and we were reuinted once again.  I’m blessed to have had the time   we shared at the end and know he’s watching me daily and is proud of me. Thank you all for your stories and condolences  it means the world to me . For the record the obituary  spelled my name completely  wrong!   I am Candace ( Candy) Welshans

So very sorry to hear of the passing of John, I first met him back in 1978, when I first started working with him at Reese Metal Products, we were co workers for the next 24 years. We saw each other through our ups & downs, had alot of fun together, both at work and outside of work,  he surely will be missed. RIP dear friend “John-A-Wanna”, till we meet again in a much better place! Please do me a favor and give Joni and Our ” Maw” a hug for me. Sincerely, Donna ( Dee) Hess

Deepest sympathy to John’s family, I met John while working at Hubley Toy Co. in late 1967, my drivers licence was suspended and John was nice enough to give me a ride to and from work in his 57 Chevy. One Sat morning instead of working overtime we decided to take a trip to Washington DC where I knew a tattoo shop. At that time there was not tattoo shops all over town like now. We both got our first Tattoo’s that day. Later in the winter there was an ice and snow storm we could not get up Pitney Rd. the cars were all in the ditch at the curve in the road so we tried Greenfield rd. cars there were wrecked so we went back to Jon’s apt. on E. walnut st. and drank coffee til 9 am seemed very sensible to us then we could make it to work, well our boss climbed all over us and that was the last day we both worked at Hubleys, We quit so after that John went to Reese metals on third shift. I visited him there a few times but we eventually grew apart and I had not seen John in 50+ years. Ironically we both became machinists. I always remember John whenever I round that curve on Pitney Rd. I enjoyed watching his tribute video it was very nice. Rest in Peace Bro.

With deepest sympathy to the family on John’s passing.
I worked with him for twenty-eight years at Reese Metal and later became Ames Reese.
He was always a hard working man and willing to help anyone who needed advice.
We even at times shared a few drinks together and John was a fun guy to hang out with.
May his family rest assured he’s in a better place where we all hope to be reunited again.

So sorry to hear of Johns passing, I met John back in 1979 I was fresh out of High school and started a job at Reese Metal Products. we became friends right away, I remember the corvettes, we had alot fun working together until I left for another job 6yrs. later, I remember we got this bright idea to canoe the conestoga river so we rented a canoe and loaded it up with our gear and took off, we put in at Brownstown and 2 days later we got out at Safe harbor, we had a blast, after leaving Reese Metals I lost contact with John and always wondered how he was doing, one of my regrets in my life. John was one heck of a nice guy and I was glad to have known him. My deepest sympathy to his family. Paul Mays
