Dr. Corcoran always made me feel comfortable and cared for. He delivered my first baby, when I was young and scared to death.  His calm, competent manner and that twinkle in his eye made me relax. He was a real mensch. I know this must be such a sad time for the Corcoran family. I’m so sorry.

Dear Mickey and Dr. Matt–Pam and I were deeply saddened to learn about John’s passing. From the time he delivered our youngest daughter Lauren and then many years later our first grandchild, to the start of my career at LGH, he was a special friend, collague and golfing buddy.
John and I enjoyed many lunches together in the LGH dining hall. They made my day. His wisdom and concern about things that mattered most to the hospital and our physicians was profound and insightful. He was a lovely man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Our sincerest condolences to the family of Dr. Corcoran.  What a true loss, and heavens gain.  When I was looking for an OBGYN I didn’t want a big practice with several doctors, I wanted a one on one, single practice and a coworker recommended Dr. Corcoran.  It is one of the best doctor choices I ever made.  He certainly was a great and caring and thorough doctor.  It was unfortunate of my first pregnancy when I miscarried.  It was heartbreaking for me and my husband.  Expecting to hear for the first time a heartbeat at my checkup only to learn hours later after being sent for an ultrasound Dr. Corcoran calling me at that office with the unbearable news.  He certainly handled that difficult situation with much compassion.  But we were successful and fortunate to have two beautiful healthy children following and luckily my second child made it before his retirement.  I remember getting his letter and being devastated he was retiring and so glad it was after my second child. Both my husband and I are grateful to Dr. Corcoran, we were always very confident in his exceptional care given to me during my pregnancies and after.  We will always treasure the beautiful ceramic booties given to us for each child’s birth, what a thoughtful and special keepsake.  May he now rest in peace in God’s eternal home.

I am really sorry to read in the paper that Dr Corcoran passed away.He was such a kind and caring man.Dr Corcoran was recommend to to by my real estate agent since we just moved to Lancaster and I realized I was pregnant.It was a high risk pregnancy because of my age and decided  to go with Dr Corcoran .Our daughter is now 28 ,born in 1993 and not to long after that Dr Corcoran retired.I’m so glad he had a long retirement,time to travel and enjoy his family.Sincerely Linda Kloos

I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to meet both John and Mickey last summer.  We met at the “ice cream stop” in Lancaster during a Diabetes Training Camp hike.  It was a beautiful day, and they both decided to “hang around ” with the group for the rest of the day. I’m truly  glad they did.  My condolences to the family on the loss of such a lovely husband, Dad, and grandfather

After moving from Allentown to Lancaster in 1983 I realized I was pregnant.  Not knowing any doctors in the area I asked the advice of a nurse at Lancaster General.  She recommended Dr. Corcoran and eight months later he delivered my daughter!  I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor and remained a patient of his for many years.  I still remember how disappointed I felt when he told me he was retiring.  I hope he enjoyed his retirement – he certainly deserved it!  My condolences to the entire family.          Patricia Pickel

Dr. Corcoran delivered my third son and what a prcious man.  He was so caring, I know he mentioned he had a busy night and when he came to see me after the birth he leaned on the bed and smiled, I could tell he was tired but he took the time for me, I will always remember him.  With my sincere sympathy.

So truly sorry to read of Dr. Corcoran passing. He was always a doctor definitely cared for the entire person and even family. He delivered both my children and continued to stop in Dispensing Co to see my husband over the years. He was my mothers physician and came to her funeral. What a person! I’m so sorry to hear of Dr. Corcoran’s passing. We sat near him at Mass almost every Sunday at SJN and we enjoyed talking to him. I often thought of him throughout covid because we missed our supportive fellow parishioners who sat near us and were so tolerant of our young twins and baby girl, who could all be a little rowdy at times. He and his wife were so kind to us and we were looking forward to a return soon and seeing them again. May he Rest In Peace.

So sad to hear of John’s passing.  He was a Prince of a man we all looked up to and admired. I witnessed what I still call the greatest perfect golf shot ever.  John was off the fairway in the trees and I saw his swing and forward finish perfectly executed from a couple hundred yards from the green.  The ball bounced on the front of the green and rolled within a foot or so of the pin. He looked at me and just nodded.  That’s the way it’s done.
