John Kemper Messick, 46

John Kemper Messick, 46, of Pequea, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 26, 2023. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Linda S. Messick and the late Howard R. Messick.
John attended Hempfield High School and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Penn State University. He also attended HACC for electrician training and worked in the electrical field for many years. John will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and all things nature. He will be greatly missed by his dog and two cats.
In addition to his mother Linda, John is survived by his sister Melissa Messick (Scott Cramer), niece Vivian Cramer, and beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations in John’s name to Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.

John, I am gratful to have so many memories of our childhood, we shared alot together. I know you are smiling upon all of us now and I ask that you look down on us and keep us safe in this earthly form. I can still hear your giggle and you calling me up saying, “What’s up cuz?” I love you bro and am gonna miss talking about the filthy Flyers with ya. Rest well John..I’ll see ya when I see ya. I just learned of John’s passing. I’m so sorry Linda and Melissa and family for your loss. I have so many memories of John from childhood and Penn State. He was funny and kind always. He will be greatly missed. Love you all and your in my thoughts and prayers. Molly Herr

Oh john, thanks fr being my neighbor all the years that you lived in pequea. I believe it has been about 14 yrs. One of the best neighbors u could have. We looked out fr each other and called each other in times of need. Bob and i are gonnamiss you john! I kno frankie ( his dog) is sitting by your side. Pequea wont be the same!
