John N. McCoy, 86
John N. McCoy, 86, of Luther Acres, Lititz, Pennsylvania passed away on October 16, 2007. Born in Pittsburgh, he resided in Harrisburg and Lafayette Hill Pennsylvania before moving to Lititz.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Portia Geyer McCoy. He is also survived by his daughter, Kristine M. Elliott and her husband Michael, of Johnstown and his son, Richard L. McCoy and his wife Betsy, of Camp Hill.
In addition, he is survived by nine grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister –in-law, Loretta McCoy, of Camp Hill, and two nieces and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his brother E. Grant McCoy.
John was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Third Infantry Division in Italy, France, and Austria. He received a Purple Heart.
John was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Business Administration. He retired from the Philadelphia School District as the Director of Transportation.
Private services will be held at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
