John Palic, Jr., 86

John Palic, Jr., 86, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019.
He was the husband of Josephine Valosich Palic, with who he shared 60 years of marriage this past July 26th. Born in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Slampak Palic.

John graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University. He had worked from 1966 until his retirement in 1994 for Lancaster General Hospital, serving last as the vice president of engineering. He was involved in the planning and building of the Health Campus. He was also very involved in the building of The Janus School in Mount Joy.

John was a member of the Conestoga Business Club, and life member of the American Legion, and enjoyed golfing and sailing.

He was a US Army veteran, serving with the 97th Signal Battalion near Stuttgart, Germany from 1953 to 1955.

John was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: James married to Sally of West Chester, Jeffrey of Canton, MI, Kevin married to Stephanie of Lancaster, and Donna married to Chris Allen of Sydney, Australia; his grandchildren John Douglas, David, Zachary, Michael, Mary Beth, and Margaret; his great grandchildren Rose and Reese and by his sister, Betty Andaloro of Uniontown.

Friends will be received on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA from 10-11AM, with the Mass to follow at 11AM. Interment will be at a later time in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Uniontown. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in John’s memory to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lancaster, 116 S. Water St., Lancaster, PA 17608 or to The Janus School, 205 Lefever Rd., Mount Joy, PA 17552.
