Joseph Wilfred Arsenault, 93

Joseph Wilfred Arsenault, 93, of Lancaster, PA, died June 25, 2016 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community, Columbia, PA, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Arsenault was born October 14, 1922 in Winslow, ME, to David and Regina (Huard) Arsenault.
After graduating from Winslow High School he joined the US Army Air Corps during WWII and served in China under General Claire Chennault in the 23rd Fighter Group, known as the Flying Tigers. After the war he continued his education at the University of Maine and after graduation was employed by the RCA Corporation from 1951 to 1982.
He enjoyed the games of golf and bowling, which he continued to enjoy until 2015. Mr. Arsenault was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Adeline (Dostie) Arsenault, of Lancaster; two children, Gary Arsenault, husband of Debra of Baltimore, MD, and his daughter Mary Gwilliam of Memphis, TN; one grandson, Taylor Gwilliam of Memphis, TN, his brother George Arsenault of Maynard, MA, and sister Julie Justice of Jacksonville, FL.
A funeral mass will take place 10 AM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 929 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA, with Rev. Tri M. Luong as Celebrant. Inurnment with Military Honors will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. Please omit flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Anne’s Retirement Community, 3952, Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA 17512.

Dear Aunt Adeline and all the family, I’m so sorry to hear of Uncle Freddie’s passing. My deepest sympathies go out to you and everyone else who’s been touched by his loving presence. Always remember that in this time of sorrow, he left us a gift of all the fond, happy memories that we all can cherish in our hearts forever.
