June K. Herr, 89, of Lititz, PA passed away peacefully on May 6, 2011 at Moravian Manor in Lititz, PA.
Born as Velma June Kurtz in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of John and Ella (Risser) Kurtz of Ephrata, PA.
June was previously married to Sener Millo (Ben) Herr of Ephrata, PA, deceased.
She is survived by a brother, Jack Kurtz, residing with his wife Joan in Ocean City, NJ; a daughter, Christine Fox; two sons, David Herr, and Mike Herr; three grandchildren, Melissa Fox, Natasha Herr, and Andrea Herr; and a great grandson, Zander Bradley.
June graduated from Ephrata High School, class of 1939, and studied at Drexel Institute, Philadelphia, PA, during 1940–1941. She was an antique dealer and collector with a shop at Black Angus Antiques in Adamstown, PA and also had her own shop in Ephrata, PA across from the Cloister. June later operated a bed and breakfast and catering business at her home on Main St. in Lititz, PA. She had a lifetime interest in cooking and cuisine and was fond of gardening. She had a cookbook of her favorite recipes published.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Chapel at Moravian Manor, 300 West Lemon Street, Lititz, PA, 717-626-0214, on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 10:30AM.
