June Y. Wagner, 86, died Monday, March 31, 2014, at Magnolias of Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Giles W. and Josephine Marie Wagaman Smith. She was the loving, faithful wife of George F. Wagner, Jr. for 60 years before his death in 2009.
A 1945 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School, she worked in the offices of Armstrong from 1945 to 1950. June then worked as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved to spend time with her family. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 80 years.
June is survived by her daughter Carol, wife of Jeff Germeyer of Lancaster, son Giles Robert Wagner, husband of Linda of Landisville, daughter Anita, wife of Bill Bunting, Jr. of Mountville; grandchildren Nicole, wife of Eric Moody, Sky Marie Wagner and Dylan Robert Wagner; step-grandchildren Kimberly Bunting and Chris Bunting and her great-grandchildren Cameron Moody and Emily Moody.
June’s family expresses their appreciation to the staff of Magnolias of Lancaster and Compassionate Care Hospice for the care they provided to her.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Monday, April 7, 2014, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dan Long and Rev. Mary Margaret Ruth officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Please omit flowers. Dear Anita, Carol, and Bob,
I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I remember her always laughing and some very good times with my family and your family, when got together. Our prayers and deepest sympathy is with you. I would really like to have your address Anita to keep in touch.
