Kandi G. Hatmaker, 64

Kandi G. Hatmaker, 64, of Lititz passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Agnes (Garcia) Shapiro. She was the loving wife of Dennis A. Klugh with whom she shared 8 years of marriage.
Kandi attended Northwestern University in Chicago.
She was the Director of Continuing Medical Education at Reading Hospital and most recently at the Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill where she wrote numerous articles for CME. Kandi loved crocheting, making afghan blankets for all of her family members and watching old movies. She had a love for music and had a wonderful singing voice, loved playing piano, art and going to the symphony. Kandi also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going “RVing” with her husband Dennis.
Kandi’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at the University of Penn Hospital and Hospice & Community Care for their kind and compassionate care extended to Kandi during her illness.
In addition to her husband Dennis, she is survived by a daughter, April Michelle Morris, wife of Fred of Greenwood, IN, and a son, John M. Rosenthal husband of Beverly of Reading, PA. Also surviving is a stepson, Tyler J. Klugh of Lititz and four grandchildren, Gabriel Martin, Leorah Kate, Talia Payge and Ryder Cole.
A Celebration of Kandi’s Life will be held at 6PM on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Friends will be received two hours prior to the Time of Sharing at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
