Karla T. Williamson, 80, of Lorton, VA passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019. Raised in York, PA she was the daughter of the late Edna (Eshleman) and Frank A. Thas. She shared 58 years of marriage with her husband, Thomas D. Williamson
A graduate of Penn State University with a major in French, she retired from Hartford Insurance Company as an Insurance Underwriter. After moving to Lorton, VA, Karla attended Lutheran churches in both Woodbridge and Springfield, VA.
Karla loved reading a variety of non-fiction books, playing scrabble, and connecting with friends. In her earlier years she liked playing the piano, while her family & friends enjoyed listening. In her youth, she liked to dance, both ballet and tap. She faithfully made family dinner every evening and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed reading the newspaper daily, and giving articles & comics of interest to her friends and family. She will be remembered for her caring nature and for always putting others first.
In addition to her loving husband, Tom, she is survived by their 2 children: Karen Williamson of Vancouver, WA and Katherine Williamson of Luray, VA; and 1 granddaughter, Katriana Gober. She is preceded in death by her sister, Annette Leininger and a niece, Ellen Leininger.
A visitation will take place from 10 to 11 AM, followed by the funeral at 11 am, with Rev. Dr. Robert L. Haslam officiating, on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Bethany E.C. Church, 1165 Letort Rd., Conestoga, PA 17516. Interment will follow at Creswell Cemetery, Letort Road, Conestoga, PA 17516. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603, or the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
