Kathleen A. Wolff

January 11, 2024

Kathleen A. Wolff, 70, of Lancaster, passed away on January 11, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital, with her devoted family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Mary C. (Gallagher) Wolff and will be remembered for her steadfast willpower to persevere through many medical challenges and hurdles throughout her life, with a smile and a good laugh.

A graduate of Manheim Township High School Class of 1971, she went on to York College where she obtained her bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biology, before transitioning to Penn State to obtain her master’s in health sciences. As a respiratory therapist, she worked throughout the tri county area including Polyclinic of Harrisburg, Reading Rehab and finally retiring from United Disabilities Services (UDS) as a patient advocate.

Kathy’s family fondly remembers her as a collector of all things. If it was collectible, she amassed it. Her love of shopping and finding the best deal helped her collect. She always cheered for the Philadelphia Eagles and was a die-hard Phillies fan. She enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, or camping at her cabin in Juniata County. She found great joy when visiting the cabin, especially when she was able to share that time with her family. She was a member of the Rod & Gun Club of Adamstown for many years and the Lions Club.

Her love and memory will live on in all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her siblings: Lyn, wife of Nick Sapone of Lancaster, and Robert Wolff husband of Mary of Red Wing, MN; nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to her as “Hot” or “Auntie”: Liz Sapone, Michael Sapone, Courtney Wolff, and Jared Wolff; as well as a great niece and nephew: Tasha and Vinny; her beloved fur baby Sweetie, and countless friends. She was preceded in passing by a brother, Ken Wolff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd. Lancaster, PA 17601, with a viewing at the church from 10 AM until Mass. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers and send memorial contributions in Kathy’s name to UDS, or a charity of your choosing.

I am so very sorry to see that Kathy has passed on, my deepest sympathies to her family and closest friends! Kathy was an incredible advocate for so many people at work and in life. She was hard working, thoughtful, loving and kind. I had the pleasure of working with her at UDS in a few different capacities. I will cherish the memories I have of her as well as what I learned for her while she was part of my life. God bless

My neighbor and dear friend, Nancy Deering, shared a room at Abbeyville nursing home with Kathy last summer. I visited Nancy regularly and was so appreciative of Kathy’s advocacy on behalf of Nancy. It was a terrible time for both of them, but Kathy’s presence was a blessing for Nancy. I enjoyed talking with Kathy. She amazed me with her tenacity, having endured so much. She was an amazing person, and I’m so sorry for your loss.
