Kathleen B. “Kathy” Green, 65

May 06, 2024

Kathleen B. “Kathy” Green, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the age of 65. Born in Philadelphia to the late Robert and Alice (Stark) Borst, Kathy was a beloved wife to the late James Green.

Kathy graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1976. A woman of many passions, Kathy was renowned for her skill in playing pool and her unwavering love for the beach, sun, and lighthouses. She found solace in the pages of books and took joy in daily walks through Strasburg.

Above all, Kathy held her family close to her heart, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Montague (James) of Lititz, Pamela Ford (Michael) of Wake Forest, NC, Steven Green (Bethany) of Strasburg, and Julianne Dommel (Adam) of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren: Donovan, Sydney, Gavin, Evelyn, Esme, Riley, Maverick, Isabelle, Caroline, and Adam, were the light of her life; 2 brothers: Robert Borst (Lynn) of Lancaster and John Borst (Carol) of Strasburg, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Kathy’s life on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home, located at 7 S. Decatur St, Strasburg, PA 17579. Visitation will take place from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a heartfelt celebration of Kathy’s life at 3:00 pm. To honor Kathy’s vibrant spirit, guests are highly encouraged to wear bright colors.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that held a special place in her heart.

Kathy was one the nicest people that the Good Lord put on this earth. You can write a book but I think that says it all. God Rest.

Kathy, my sweet cousin, you were always so kind. I’ll always remember your smiling face when the families would get together, it is forever embedded in my mind. I’m comforted knowing you are at peace now and free to embrace heaven and all its glory.   Michael Brambilla

Kathy, you lived your life well and you lived it your way. You and Jim raised incredible children and your grand children are well loved.  You are at peace with Jim.  Time to rest and watch over your family from afar.  You are loved and will be remembered.  Beth, Pam, Steve and Juli, hold on to the love and memories it will carry you through each day.

Kathy was a high school classmate.  Her obituary and this picture capture the Kathy I fondly remember from all of those years ago; a special charisma that was warm, light-hearted, pleasant, genuine and smiling.  I am so sorry to see that she passed.  May she be at peace.  Lou Jackubowski  LCHS ’76

Dear Green Family:
We were saddened to read of the passing of your mom! Back in the day of our kids and sports- we always had fun with both your mom and dad as we cheered you on! She was a dedicated and loving mom whose heart was there every game cheering to the end! Those memories will never leave us!  Sending our deepest sympathy to you all. Her legacy will always live on in our town and through all of you! Thinking of you all- Bev & Jim Doughty & Family

The end of life is a certainty for all. This ending blocks our chace to make new memories with our friend Kathy. But this ending can not steal the beautiful memories our families shared together. Beth, Pam, Steve and Julie, the many summers we spent at the beach with your dad and mom were wonderful times. Kathy and Jim schooled Edie and I many nights on the game of pinnacle. We will cherish these memories for the balance of our lives.
Blessings always, Bob and Edie Spong
