Kenneth J. Roberts, Sr., 80
April 24, 2024
Kenneth J. Roberts, Sr., 80, of New Providence, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, following a courageous fight with cancer. Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late William and Greta (Barry) Roberts. He was the loving husband of Kelly, with whom he shared 44 wonderful years together.
Kenny joined the Navy in 1962 and proudly served on the USS Saratoga, in defense of the country that he loved deeply. Following his honorable discharge, he began to drive as a cross-country boat hauler. After retiring, he continued driving as an escort for oversize loads, for High Steel Industries, where he earned the nickname, “Windjammer”.
Kenny will always be remembered for his love of family and friends. He always thought of others before himself. While living in Massachusetts, he was involved with the Boy Scouts and served as a Unit Commissioner for four troops. Ken also belonged to the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed playing softball, baseball, and bowling.
In addition to his wife, Kenny is survived by his daughter, Cherie Maguire, and her husband John, of Brockton, MA; his grandchildren: Peter Paluzzi and his wife, Jackie Iannone, of Somerville, MA and Mikayla Paluzzi, of Aberdeen, NC; sister: Jean Guarino, and her husband Steve, of Bridgewater, MA; and sister-in-law, Nancy Roberts, of Brockton, MA; and a greatly anticipated great-grandson who is expected in July. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth J. Roberts, Jr. and his brother, Barry Roberts.
Funeral Services for Kenny will be held at 6PM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 4PM to 6PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to Hospice & Community Care by visiting:
