Kristen Lyn (Shuey) Mays, 51

Kristen Lyn (Shuey) Mays, 51, of Lititz, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of Ruth (Rittle) Shuey and the late Wilbur H. Shuey. Kristen was the loving wife of Paul J. Mays, Jr.
Kristen was a 1982 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School and worked for over 30 years in the insurance profession. She attended Son Light Bible Church, Lancaster.
Kristen was a fun-loving person who enjoyed vacationing in Rehoboth Beach and loved boating on Raystown Lake. She was a talented folk art painter and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and baking cupcakes for church functions. More than anything, Kristen enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, she was also a lover of all animals, especially dogs.
In addition to her mother and husband, Kristen is survived by her 3 sisters: Karen Howard, wife of Terry, of Lebanon; Denise Strubhar, of Fredericksburg, PA; and Debra Lutz, wife of Terry, of Jonestown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received for a visitation from 6PM to 8PM, Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Graveside services will be held privately for the family and Kristen’s beloved Son Light Bible Church family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Kristen’s memory be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or A Tail to Tell, Inc., PO Box 524 Mt. Gretna, PA 17064.

I am truly sorry for your loss. It is obvious by the words you’ve expressed that Kristen was a beautiful and loved person. I hope you can find comfort in the memories you have shared. The loss of a loved one is almost too much for us to bear because it was never God’s purpose for us to endure this pain. Let him be your strength in this difficult time and take comfort in the words found in his word (Psalm 46:1, Revelation 21:4). With my sincerest sympathies.
