Kristin Nicole (Sceski) MacFarland, 27
January 30, 2015
Kristin Nicole (Sceski) MacFarland, 27, of Ephrata, was called home by the LORD on January 30, 2015 after a long fight with Medullary Thyroid cancer.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of William A. and Laurie (Veneski) Sceski of Lititz, and the beloved wife of 3 years to Jonathan MacFarland.
I always loved you
I always will
You were my wife
You were my friend
We have a love
That will never end.
Kristin was an inspiration to everyone she met, especially her family, friends, and fellow “Meddies” (medullary cancer survivors). Her many joys in life included cosmetology, a talent she utilized in her job as a hairstylist for SuperCuts; cooking, drawing, painting, photography, and writing on her personal blog. She had a love for all animals and felt most at peace when she was in nature. Kristin will be loved and missed by so many.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, Kristin is survived by her brother, Jason Sceski and his wife Ronice of Lebanon; a niece, McCartney Sceski of Lebanon; sister Kelli Metzler and her husband Jeff of Lititz; maternal grandfather Martin “Dzia-Dzia” Veneski of Shamokin; paternal grandmother Eileen “Nanny” Sceski of Elysburg; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Alfred “Pappy” Sceski, and her maternal grandmother, Christine “Busha” Veneski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz with the Rev. Alfred Sceski as Celebrant and the Rev. James O’Blaney as Co-Celebrant. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, with a prayer service beginning at 7:30. Burial will be in Witness Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Kristin’s memory may be made to Thyroid Cancer Survivor’s Association at thyca.org (Medullary Thyroid Cancer Research) or to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.

Kristin was an amazing person and friend. I had the privilege of attending cosmetology school with Kristin and becoming great friends. She always knew how to make you laugh, when you were having one of the worst days and even on great days. She brought so much joy to everyone she met. I will truly and deeply miss her. We lost an absolutely beautiful person inside and out but God gained an even more amazing Angel! My prayers go out to her family! I’m so sorry for your loss. Kristin, I love you girl and I will miss you terribly!
love, Brittany R.

Kristen’s smile was a joy to me. We met online because my daughter was 17 years old when diagnosed with Medullary Thyroid Cancer in April 2010. She was an inspiration to me as I dealt with this journey for my daughter. Her strong faith helped many, and she was an inspiration to me. I’m so sorry that she has passed, although we can believe that she is in a better place and not in pain. Sharon F.
