Larry J. Booth, Sr.
Larry Booth, age 74 of Lancaster passed away Sunday December 16 after a long illness. Born in Wake County, North Carolina. Larry was the son of the late Thomas Booth and the late Alice Booth Markham.
Larry was the founder of Booth Insulation Company in Landisville. He enjoyed fishing and boating in Delaware with his family and friends. He also was a wonderful gardener. Until his illness consumed him he hosted a yearly pig roast at his home to raise money for Relay for Life. He helped with a chicken BBQ also for Relay. Every year he came to Relay for Life with fried fish and chicken for his family’s team and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine and his son Todd. He will be lovingly missed by his fiancee Betty Nance who lives between Lancaster and Raleigh, North Carolina, his daughter Cheryl, wife of Barry Campbell, son Jeff, husband of Kathy(Bernie), daughter-in-law Janet. five grandchildren, Erick Whiteside husband of Memie, Neil, Carly, Nate, and Chris, and two great grandchildren Eliot and Evelyn.
Larry is survived by brother Paul husband of Shirley, and sister Jean, wife of Bernice Proctor, both of Durham, NC, and sister Peggy Sheldon of Summerville SC. He is preceded in death by brother, Cecil.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 29th at 1 PM at Charles Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Chapel, Inc., 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA., Erik Ewing, officiating. Family visitation will be from 11-1 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made in his name to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life team Bushwhackers, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603. All three generations of his family are involved in relay for life
