Lawrence B. Kaplan, 71
Lawrence B. Kaplan, 71, of Manheim, formerly of New York City, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Florence and Albert Kaplan. He was the beloved husband to Cynthia Kaplan with whom he shared over 33 years of marriage.
Larry received his Bachelor degree from Brooklyn College. Prior to retirement he worked as a Physical Education teacher at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Manhattan. He enjoyed bike riding, playing billiards and working out at Universal Athletic Club. Larry was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting comic books and sports memorabilia. Larry was also a black belt in Judo. Above all, he cherished spending time with this family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Alicia Kaplan (Salvatore Bosamonte) of NJ, Alexander Kaplan of Manheim, Britt Johnson (Cyrus) of Manheim; Erikka Washington of Brooklyn, NY and Clarence Washington of GA; his grandchildren: Harley, Salvatore, Lucas, Heath, Elijah, Renee,Terrence, Sha’laya, Quentin and Alexus; his brother Herbert Kaplan of Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his children: Brandon Kaplan and Lisa Biel.
A Time of Sharing will be held at 4PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A viewing will be held from 2PM-4PM.
