Condolences to the Family

February 19, 2017

I’m so sorry and so saddened upon learning of Larry’s passing. He was such a kind and caring man. I’m sending my love and prayers to all of his family for their loss, and what a loss it is for everyone whose life he touched.
I worked with Larry during his time at Alcoa Recycling, he had just come onboard with our group as our new VP. He decided to travel to all the different territories to learn more about us and our roles, and picked the south as his first trip. I’m in Atlanta, GA and we meet for the first time at the Ft. Lauderdale, FL airport. We  laughed as we walked towards each other after giving descriptions of what we each looked like. Our friendship started at that moment and changed in such a funny way after we both visited a Miami Landfill back in the 80’s. The manager wanted us to have the grand tour and that involved climbing a tall steel ladder to a platform to oversee the landfill. We just looked at each other, hard hats on, and lady’s first. I started to climb the ladder up to the top to the viewing platform, and Larry just looked up at me with a “might as well” look. We climbed to the platform to view the landfill, then all of a sudden the smelliest and nastiest odor hit both of us at the same time, just awful, and as working professionals, we just smiled at each other.  Upon leaving we shook hands with the manager and waited until we were in the car on the way out of the lot, then we both just burst out laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes, it smelled so bad. This was his first recycling trip to a customers landfill and our first time meeting. We laughed over that trip every time we saw each other at Alcoa meetings. We hit it off immediately when we met because that’s the kind of person he was, just a great guy, with a great sense of humor who genuinely cared about people.
I left Alcoa Recycling in 1995 and lost touch with him. I will miss Larry, he always spoke of his family, his wife and children and how much you all meant to him… and he loved his grandchildren.
i will miss his sense of humor and his stories as well as how kind and wonderful he was to everyone he met.. Thinking of Larry will always bring a smile to my face, and a little chuckle over our meeting each other for the first time.

Tom and Betsy,

Lisa and I wanted to offer our deepest sympathies at your dad’s passing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.

Rick and Lisa Urbanowski

I am very sorry for your loss.   My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  I knew Larry during my time at Alcoa’s Lancaster Works.   However, as it happens often times in life, we lose contact. I remember accompanying Larry many times on visits to our customers’ locations; especially Boeing in Seattle.  I have always enjoyed our many discussions. He will be missed.

Louis Crivaro   Lancaster, PA

We extend our sympathy for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Louise and Skip Cernuto

Donna and Family –
Isabel and I are very saddened to learn of Larry’s death, He has been such a great friend, though regretfully at a long distance.
Donna, you and Larry were at our wedding in 1959 and we appreciated your long drive to get there. Such faithful friends are rare.
I have enjoyed swapping emails with you and Larry over many years. We loved Larry’s sense of humor. No one anywhere could come up with the same kind of humor.
Many people will miss Larry, he had so many friends everywhere. When I would mention Larry’s name in conversation with old friends, the first thing they would say was What a great guy he is!
    We will certainly miss Larry.
                  Buddy and Isabel Brooks

Dear Mrs.Corcoran,
So sorry for your loss. I just ran into Chriss at the parent teacher night at the High School and she had said that Mr. Corcoran wasn’t doing well.I became awhere of Mr. Corcorans passing late WED. or I would have certainly come to the viewing.I have to tell you your Husband was always so glad to see us kids from the past even when I was at your home for business. He treated us with respect and was genuinely concerned how we and our families were doing. HE will be greatly missed, but He is a Peace and has a healed body in Heaven with our Lord and Savior.

Peace, Strength and Gods Grace.
Sincerely, Phil Givler
