October 09, 2024
The family of Linda K. Balzereit are saddened to announce her unexpected passing on October 9, 2024, at her home. She was 74. Born and raised in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Elva Freas.
Linda lived her life to the fullest. She surrounded herself with faith, family, and beauty. She danced like no one was watching, cooked from the heart to share with others, and always emanated love and joy to those around her. She enjoyed cooking and baking, with her specialties being pies, cookies, and bars. Her hobbies included tending to her flower and vegetable garden, reading different genres of novels, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. She found immense peace surrounding herself with family or visiting the beaches of Cape May, NJ.
Her love and memories will live on in all who knew her. She will be sorely missed by her longtime companion William “Bill” Barry, her daughters, Sarah Case of Landisville and Amy Godshall, wife of Chris of Lebanon, grandchildren, David, Immanuel, Eden, and Nehemiah, siblings, Harry Freas, companion of Jeanne Brooks of Landisville and Barbara Cody of Akron, her stepchildren, Megan, wife of Craig Bilbrough and their son Jake, as well as Trevor Barry, husband of Brandy, and their daughter Amiya of Wallingford, her aunt Madeline Davidson and her beloved dog Boomer.
The family will celebrate Linda’s life and faith at 11 AM on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Donegal Presbyterian Church, 1891 Donegal Springs Rd. Mount Joy, PA 17552. The family will greet guests from 10 AM until the time of the service.

My dear cousin Linda. I have many fond memories of my familiy visiting Aunt Elva, your mom in New Holland. Saturday afternoons dancing to Dick Clarks American Bandstand is one of my favorites. My sincerest symphony to Barbie and Harry. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope to one day live back in beautiful Pennsylvania and be closer to our large and wonderful families. Sincerely, Brenda Hershey of Sarasota, Fl
