Lorraine H. Fichthorn, 85, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Brethren Village.
She was the wife of the late Charles E. Sowers Jr. who passed away in 1975 and the late William D. Fichthorn who passed away in 2012. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Claude S. and Alice Heimel Shreiner.
Lorraine had worked in the credit office at the former Watt & Shand Dept. Store in Lancaster until 1981. She had previously worked at Hager’s Dept. Store in the bridal department.
Lorraine enjoyed traveling and spending time with her late husband, Bill, at their second home in Arizona. She loved to decorate and was known for keeping her home in immaculate condition.
She was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sons: J. Douglas married to Judith Sowers of Scottsdale, AZ, and Donald C. Sowers of Boerne, TX; her stepdaughters Cynthia A. married to Marvin Oxenreider of Ephrata and E. Jane married to Craig Leid of Denver, PA; and by her 4 stepgrandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 10-11AM at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA , with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Interment in Brownstown Evangelical Cemetery.
