Luz Rosa Hernandez, 78

Luz Rosa Hernandez, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018. Born in Vertientes, Cuba she was the daughter of the late Eloisa (Dixon) Olivares and Felipe Jones. Luz was the loving wife to the late Felisberto M. Hernandez.
Luz made Lancaster, PA her home for the last 47 years, where she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She worked as an LPN at Conestoga View Nursing Home. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden, crocheting and bowling. Luz was a life-long learner and loved to stay active. She enjoyed salsa dancing and more recently swimming. Most of all Luz, loved to spend time with her family. Her adventurous spirit and honest nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children: Diane, wife of Gregory Learn of Salisbury, MD and Alexis, husband of Amber Hernandez of Glen Burnie, MD; six grandchildren: Alexis Earl, Ethan Hernandez, Brennan Learn, Sebastian Learn, Kayla Danheim and Enrique Hernandez; 3 sisters: Iris Jones of Miami, FL, Violeta Casteneda of Hialeah, FL and her twin sister, Rosa Hamilton of Brooklyn, NY.
Family & Friends will be received on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2-4 PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 19, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy E, Lancaster, PA 17602.

Diane and Alexis, I am so sorry, I just learned of her passing today. My prayers are with you and your families at this time. You mother was a wonderful person, and a good friend to my mother for many many years. I’m sure thay are in Heaven catching up on old times.
