Margaret A. Ammon, age 75, of Strasburg, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023. She was born to Willis and Frances Montgomery. Margaret was a proud graduate of Lampeter Strasburg High School and went on to become a respected collection officer at Lancaster Medical Bureau.

She had a zest for life, loving every moment spent with her dear friends and family. Margaret embarked on international adventures, including a memorable trip to England with her son, where she proudly watched her granddaughter play soccer.
Margaret is survived by her loving son Brian Ammon (Shannon) and their children Cooper, Makenna, and Zoe. She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Byers and Ruth Ranes, brothers Ted Byers and Jack Byers, sister-in-law Patsy Boyle, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Vernon Ammon, her parents Willis and Frances Montgomery, and siblings Dot Brooks, Charlie Ruhl, David Ruhl, and Earl Byers.
A funeral service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA, on January 3, 2024. A viewing will take place from 9 to 11 a.m., with the service beginning at 11 a.m. Margaret will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Middle Octorara Cemetery following the service.

Brian and family, I am sure I remember you when you played football for LS along with my son, Jason Lawrence. Your mother went to LS as did I; I was the class of 1965, Linda Welk. My sincere sympathy to you during this difficult time and in the weeks and months ahead. May God’s loving arms be ever so gentle as He holds you securely.

Brian and Family,
I was so shocked to read of Peg’s passing. We have been friends for many years working with her and your father at Keystone Industries. The last time I saw her was right before her trip to London. She was so looking forward to it. She will surely be missed. Keeping you and the family in my thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately we are unable to attend the service.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann & Jim Mahler
