Marian Arlene “Sis” McClarigan, 96
June 10, 2017
Our loving Mother, Grandma, and Grammy, Marian Arlene “Sis” McClarigan, 96, of Lancaster, passed away at Conestoga View Nursing Home, Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was the loving wife and soulmate of the late Daniel P. McClarigan, Sr.
Mother was an Angel sent from Heaven. She was the perfect picture of humility, warmth, love, and sincerity. Never one to ask or want for anything, she cared only about those around her. Always content with whatever life tossed her way, even being blind most of her life; she never complained in all her 96 years.
Sis is survived by her two sons: Brian (Linda) McClarigan, of Duane, NY and Kevin (Loretta) McClarigan, of Paradise; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Josie McClarigan, wife of Sis’s son, the late Daniel P. McClarigan, Jr.; and brother, Carl (Jan) Kreider, of Lancaster.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sis’s Graveside Service to be held in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Ranck Ave. & Ranck Mill Rd., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Friday, June 16, 2017, at 11:00 AM. Brian, I only just now saw the notice in the paper. I haven’t seen you, Kevin, or your Mother for so many years, but please know that I think of your family every time I am down at the Conard Road house and look down through the woods at your house on Lampeter Road. “Sis” (I can still hear my Maw say her name) is such an amazingly kind soul and she and Maw can start a new neighborhood in Heaven now. I am trying to remember the last time I saw either of your parents and I believe it was in at St Joeseph Hospital I ran into your Dad; I have no idea what year that was. My Maw died in November last year and it was a blessing. She did not know either Doug or me for a few years. Take care until you are reunited.

Kevin, Loretta, and families: I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I enjoyed visiting with your mom so much when my church choir would come to Evergreen at Christmas and sing. I loved watching her because she would glow with delight as she remembered the song lyrics. Then I would always sit and chat with her; what a blessing she was to me! She was a truly beautiful lady, and it was so easy to see why others were drawn to her. May God bless you all with his comfort and with treasured memories. Bev and Rich Groff

Kevin & Loretta and Families: Sis was everyone’s favorite at Evergreen. A very sweet, happy and sincere lady who was amazing to say the least. Sis stopped by my office often but never once to complain. Her compliments were always of high praise. She greeted all new incoming residents with her warmth and made them feel right at home. Sis was a special lady who stoled my heart the day she joined our family. My sincere sympathies to all the family.
Jean L Lull, (Previous Administrator, Evergreen Estates) P.S. Due to my work schedule, unfortunately, I will not be able to attended her service.
Loretta, you are to be commended for your care to Sis. Jean

I met Sis on the first day that my father moved into Evergreen Estates. She and Loretta were having lunch at the guest table where my father, husband and I sat. I visited my father every day and we would walk together to the dining room at lunch time. Quite often we would meet Sis along the way. She would be whistling and would always be happy. Sometimes, she was already in the dining room and we would stop to speak with her. She always remembered my dad, Joe and was happy to converse with us. Such a pleasant lady. June Campbell Leshinskie
