Marilou Kraynick, 82
Marilou Kraynick, 82, of Brethren Village, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy. Born in Windber, PA, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Mary Fonslick Kraynick.
She was employed for 40 years at RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics, retiring in 1995. Marilou was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the American Business Women’s Association.
Her family remembers her as a caring sister and aunt who lived a life of service. Her volunteer activities in recent years included knitting blankets and hats for newborns and assisting in the St. Anne church office. In addition, she’ll be remembered for the many customized birthday cards she created for her Brethren Village neighbors.
Surviving are her sister Jean Hawman of Brethren Village, nieces and nephews, Phyllis Badowski of Kansas, Lois Bailey of Maryland, Patricia Dagostino of Pennsylvania, Michael Hawman of California, Nancy Hawman of Washington, Susan Hawman of the District of Columbia, Kathi Hissong of North Carolina, and David and Joseph Kraynick both of Ohio.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11 AM in the Chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606, with The Rev. Norman Hohenwarter, Jr. as Celebrant. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:30-11 AM. Private interment will take place at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Anne Catholic Church, 929 N. My wife and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Marilou. As you know, she was my dad’s secretary and my daughter’s godmother. She will be missed by everyone that new her. Our thoughts and prayers go to everyone in her family.
