Mark Anthony Mendez, Sr., 61

Mark Anthony Mendez, Sr., 61, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at home on Sunday, August 18, 2024. He was previously a resident of New York City.

Born in New York, he was the son of the late Carmen (Labiosa) and Michael Mendez. Prior to his retirement, Mark worked as a millworker at Alcoa and Arconic.

Mark was a man of many passions. He loved fishing, especially deep-sea fishing, and was known for being the life of the party as a DJ and breakdancer. A proud Dallas Cowboys fan, he also had a deep love for classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He also enjoyed going to Delaware Park Casino, drawing, graffiti, and music. Mark cherished his visits to family in NYC and was honored with an induction into the Graffiti Museum Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his children: Mark Anthony Mendez, Jr. of Philadelphia, Melanie Mendez of Lancaster, Patrick Mendez, Sr., husband of Maxine, of College Park, MD, and Manuel E. Abrante III of Lancaster; grandchildren: Mickey, Dejalee, Davion, Anaijah, Elijah, Brionna, Patrick, Jr., Mason, Savannah, Manuel IV, Adaliz, Aurora, and Tiago; great-grandson Kairo; siblings: Barbara Mendez, Michael Mendez, Evelio Tamayo, and Abelardo Tamayo, as well as nieces and nephews: Clarissa, Gabriel, and Brandon.

A viewing will be held from 2 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Manhattan Funeral Service, New York. Interment will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Rosedale Cemetery, 750 E. Linden Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Graffiti Museum Hall of Fame, 106 Park Avenue, New York City, NY 10029.
