Martin L. Tshudy, Jr., 91
July 29, 1928 - April 30, 2020
Martin Luther “Marty” Tshudy, Jr., 91, of Lancaster, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 after a brief illness. Born July 29, 1928, to the late Martin L. Tshudy, Sr. and Margaret Gunzenhauser Grimely, he was the loving husband of Martha Tollinger Butson for 31 years.
Marty’s faith was very important to him. He loved God and attended New Life Church, Lancaster. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. As a young boy, Marty started helping his father in the plastering business. He was self-employed as a plasterer and dry wall refinisher for over 50 years.
Marty enjoyed watching Westerns, old movies and Fox News. He enjoyed playing golf, dancing to big band music, traveling, and watching birds and animals.
Marty is survived by his children: Craig, husband of MaryAnn, of Lititz; Terry, husband of Lynn, of Lititz; David, of Lititz; and Patricia Tshudy, of Ephrata; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Howard Tshudy.
A private graveside service will be held at Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster. In remembrance of Marty, please take a moment to sing your favorite hymn.

Hi Maratha, It is Betsy form the CVS just wanted to send you a card but because I am not working didn”t have a way to get your address. Then I remember could do it this way. I was sorry to hear of Martin’s passing and know it has to be a great loss to you. I know you took good care of him it was nice to see him when you brought him into the store. It was great knowing Marty and seeing him at church every Sunday with his sharp shirt and suit and winning smile. He had a great sense of humor which we all enjoyed. Will miss him but look forward to seeing him again in Heaven some day.

I was so sorry to read of Marty’s passing. I enjoyed visiting Marty and Martha with MaryAnn. They were always very sweet and welcoming.

Dear Martha,
We were so sorry to see Marty’s obit in the paper today. Marty was always a pleasant man- quite man – n always smiled easily.
He is now with the Lord with no more worries—please take great care — it is an adjustment when our loved ones go home.

I have not seen Marty for many years. In our younger years, as cousins, we saw each other frequently. My condolences to the family. My husband died February 1, 2020, so I am grieving with you. His father is buried next to my mother, Edna Tshudy Snavely Slick.
