Mary Ann Daley, 78

Mary Ann Daley, 78 of Ephrata, formerly of Silver Spring MD, Bucks County and Philadelphia, PA, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Keystone Villas in Ephrata. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John J. Norman and the late Helen “Hazel” (Motz) Norman. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Daley, Jr, who passed away in 2002.
Mary Ann was a graduate of J.W. Hallahan High School in Philadelphia and went on to receive her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Antioch University. She taught in the Philadelphia Archdiocese, primarily at Nativity BVM, from 1967 to 1980. She subsequently served as a Special Educator in the Philadelphia public schools, and the Camden County, NJ schools until her retirement in 2002.
In her retirement, she remained very active at Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD. There she was a member of the Rossmoor Women’s Club, the Inter-Faith Chapel and Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed doing ceramics, water aerobics, card club and playing lawn ball.
Mary Ann was a family woman at heart, her “greatest pleasure in life was a good marriage, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; enjoying trips to theaters, museums and summers at the Jersey Shore”.
She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ann, wife of Robert Ambs of Lititz, PA, Christine, wife of Gerald McDonough of Sun Prairie, WI, and Kathleen, wife of Peter Bridgeman of Vienna, VA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Helene Fastrich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Friday, January 16, 2015 at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth McAteer as Celebrant. Friends will be received from 9:30-11AM at the church on Friday. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to the National MS Society, 1120 James Drive, Hartland, WI 53029 or to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th St & Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
