Mary Ellen Kreider, 91

Mary Ellen Kreider, 91, of Lititz, PA and formerly of Norwich, VT died peacefully on Saturday June 1, 2024. Mary Ellen was born in Lititz to the late Ellen Mae (Peters) and Harry Koehler Galebach. She was formerly married to the late Donald Lester Kreider. They raised their four boys, John Richard, Paul Allen, David Kendall and Greg (Long) in Norwich, VT, where Mary Ellen resided for 70 years.

Mary Ellen graduated from Lititz High School in 1951. She enjoyed a career as a real estate agent. She loved to cook and was always delighting friends and family with new recipes. She also enjoyed gardening, sports and following the New York Rangers. She loved spending time with her friends and family who will fondly remember her smile and zest for life.

Mary Ellen will be missed by her children, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons John Richard Kreider and Paul Allen Kreider and her long-time companion James “Jim” Jacobson. She is survived by her sons David Kendall Kreider and his wife Kathy of Boxford, MA and Greg Long and his wife Gail of Midlothian, VA, her daughter in law Vicki Kreider, daughter in law Tawn Kreider, her sister Bernice Hendricks and her husband Bob of Lititz, PA, her niece Sue Ellen Hendricks, and nephew John Robert Hendricks. She was the proud and beloved “GramMe” to Sarah Coiner and her husband Josh, Mary Laffely and her husband Nick, Harry Kreider and his wife Sarah, Erik Kreider, Mark Kreider and his wife Megan, Christopher Kreider and his wife Francesca, and Katherine (Katie) Kreider.

A private graveside service will be held to honor and remember Mary Ellen’s life in the Hillside Cemetery in Norwich, VT at a later date.
