Mary Kleponis, 81

Mary Kleponis, 81, of Lititz, PA, passed away on November 24, 2016 at Luther Acres. Born and raised in Berwick, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Bertha Pichierri, and a member of St. Joseph Parish, where she was married to Frank. Mary will be missed by her beloved husband, Francis “Frank” Kleponis and her sons Anthony and David.
She earned her RN nursing degree at the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA and her BS in nursing degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Mary’s career included nursing and teaching at the Polyclinic School of Nursing, a grade school teacher, and as a secretary at a Department of the Army project office. Mary was a world traveler and lived many different states, Germany and Italy with her husband and two sons. Her global travels provided lasting friendships throughout the US and the world. While in Lititz, she worked with Meals on Wheels, the Lititz Lioness Organization, Crispus Attucks and the St. Mary’s Meals Program.
She was an active and devout Catholic and is survived by her husband, Frank, Anthony and Holly, and David and Melissa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 28, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave, Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. James O’Blaney as Celebrant. A viewing will take place from 10-11 AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
