Michael C. Groff, 70
Michael C. Groff, 70, of Strasburg, died at home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 following a long illness. He was the husband of Sandra (Shaub) Groff for 50 years.
He graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg High School and Apprenticeship School for Construction.
Mike retired as a Superintendent after over 40 years in the construction business. He worked for Wholsen Construction, Horst Construction and Paul Risk Construction.
He was a life member of the Strasburg Fire Company No. 1 and the former Strasburg Ambulance Association.
Mike was a member of Christiana Lodge #417, F. & A. M. and the Slumbering Groundhog Lodge, Quarryville.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to the mountains. Mike loved to cook and host cookouts.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Jerre L. Groff and the late Jane E. (Rineer) Groff. In addition to Sandy, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey married to Connie Groff of Willow Street and Brian married to Sherri Groff of Ronks; a daughter, Michele Groff of Strasburg; eleven grandchildren; two brothers, Doug married to Jacqueline Groff of Strasburg and Steve married to Diane Groff of Lancaster and two sisters, Kate married to Mike McMullan of Marcus Hook, and Christine married to Larry Day of Bozeman, MT.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice & Community Care for their kindness and wonderful care.
It was Mike’s wish that services and interment will be private at the convenience of his family.
