Michael M. “Mike” Murray, 72

June 10, 2024

Michael M. “Mike” Murray 72 of New Providence passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on June 10 after a long illness. Mike married his wife Kathy (Roschel) Murray on December 2, 1972. They were blessed with three children, Brian (husband of Sarah), Kellee (wife of Jujo Morales) and Kimberlee (wife of Paul Bourne) and ten grandchildren Eliana, Millenia, Kenyon, Gianna, Dhamir, Marex, Carter, Jayden, Silas, and Sophia.

Born to David and Emma Murray of Peach Bottom, Mike was the fifth of nine children. He is survived by his siblings Patricia, Phyllis, Paulette, Ronald, and Terry, and was preceded in death by David, Gary, and Pam.

Mike was a carpenter by trade, having completed an apprentice program with Warfel Construction in 1973. After working for Warfel, he proceeded to work for United Parcel Service for 25 years and finished his career with Wohlsen Construction, retiring in 2013.

Mike lived an active life until his illness in late 2022. Throughout Mike’s life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and golf. Once introduced to golf by his son, it was an ongoing passion which led to many golf trips with some very special friends. He enjoyed vacationing with family, working on his property and helping friends and family with home projects. He and his wife hosted many summer parties throughout the years at their home, affectionately known as Murray Mountain. Mike loved his family dearly and his legacy will live on in them.

A Celebration of Life and Memory Sharing will be held for Mike at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street,PA on Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 3pm.  I cant recall in my life time. A more visual first encounter/impression of anybody then the one Mike left upon me. I was put in a trance, of a person who has never made  me feel more comfortable or relaxed to be around. I felt like i knew mike many years before that time. Being friends with Brian,Kelleee and kim, many years before meeting Mike. Gave me a instant thought of, now i know why those 3 are so calm cool and collective. All around ,3 of the most respectful loving and kind hearted people/friends forever i have associated with. Mike left his legacy to last decades to come. You will see it everyday with the way his amazing family,  continues portraying his values. Unmatched by any other. I miss and love you guys and think about the good times together very often.

I knew Mike as “Big Mike The Neourosurgeon”
As a drywall finisher I had the privilege of finishing drywall that he installed with such precision thus I gave him this nickname!!!! He was a very great friend. He ,AJ Jackson of Jackson Electric, worked together on many projects together. He will most definitely be missed  by me. I pray that his wife and family experience the comfort of the Lord, and friends now,and in the coming days. You all are in my wife and I’m prayers.

Dear Murray family,
We were so sad to hear of Mike’s  transition. We can only imagine your grief with losing such a great man. Mike was a  good friend to anyone that had the privilege of knowing him. He was humble, kind and a genuine human being. He’s been a friend of our family for years by going deep sea fishing with my father,  Ronald and their fishing club, and with working on home improvements projects with my husband Hendricks, but Mike called him ,”AJ”.  Thanks for sharing him with so many.  We will continue to keep you lifted in prayer. May God bless and keep you.
Sincerely,  Hendricks and Janice Jackson
