Michael R. Caporina, 87

Michael R. Caporina, 87, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Magnolias of Lancaster. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Antonio and Michelina (Munna) Caporina, he was the husband of 50 years to the late Ann T. (Panagia) Caporina who died in 2002.
Mike was honorably discharged from the Army in 1947 after nearly 2 years of service. He worked for the Long Island State Park Commission until his retirement in 1991. Mike was of the Christian faith and was an avid bowler who belonged to leagues in New York and Lancaster. He was a baseball enthusiast and loved the Mets and Phillies. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed tinkering and fixing things.
Mike is survived by 2 children: Michelle Ereon, wife of Michael, and Jacqueline James, both of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren: Lori Reneau, Michael Ereon, Jessica Reheard, Christopher James, and Kelly Brenneman; and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mike will be held at 11AM on Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mike’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Pennsylvania, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
