Michael Wright Pechiro, 76

February 18, 2025

Michael Wright Pechiro, 76, of Conestoga, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Mike celebrated 45 years of marriage with his wife Nancy J. (Foster) Pechiro last September 22nd.

Born in Mineola, Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Caroline (Wright) Pechiro. Mike graduated from Long Island Lutheran High School, Class of 1966, and completed a BS in Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ in 1970.

He owned Housewright Builders, building and remodeling many homes in Lancaster County.

A man of great Faith, Mike was a 45-year member of Zion Church of Millersville.

He had a great and witty sense of humor and a zest for life and the outdoors. His numerous adventures included family trips to the beach, skiing, sailing, crabbing, hiking, camping, and ice skating. Mike was quite the storyteller.

In addition to his loving wife Nancy, Mike’s family includes their children, Alicia, wife of Daniel DeLeon, Caroline, wife of Ronald Ocano, Greg Pechiro, husband of Rosalie, and Jillian Pechiro; 8 grandchildren: Sabrina, Micaiah, Magdalene, Pauletta, Joses, and Miriam DeLeon, and Oliver and Maxwell Pechiro; his sister Marianne Van Denburg, wife of the late Roy, Sr., nephew Roy, Jr., husband of Gina, niece Toni, wife of Rick, 4 great-nephews; and his beloved dogs Lucy and Lola.

Mike’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Oak Leaf Manor South for the care they provided to him.

A Celebration of Mike’s life will take place 4 pm Sunday, February 23, 2025, with The Rev. Stephen C. Cote officiating at Zion Church of Millersville. Mike’s family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm.

Kindly consider a contribution in Mike’s memory to Zion Church of Millersville, 317 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551.

Nancy and family,
Kaysi and I Celebrate in remembrance and in sweet recollection of Mike and we extend our deep thoughtful condolences.  We have so many wonderful memories of him.   The Egg Harbor City Mothers Club brought our families together with joy shared watching our children grow and flourish.   Smiles come over our faces remembering shared afternoons at backyard picnics, the beach and the river.  They were the best of times.  Mike had such a fantastic spirit and magnetic personallity and we will keep him with us with many sweet recollections that give our love a place to go.

We were fortunate to have Mike, Nancy and their family as neighbors for more years then I can count. Mike was always a gracious host and fun to be around (he definitely had the most energy on the volleyball court). We miss those times and will always hold fond memories. It was always obvious how much Mike’s family meant to him. Life is too short, so glad we were able to be part of Mike’s. Love to Nancy and family. ❤️
