Nancy J. Carello, 84

Nancy J. Carello, 84, of the Mennonite Home and formerly of Lancaster, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was born in Lancaster to the late Charles and Eleanor (Stenwandel) Fry. Nancy’s husband of 37 years, Joseph Carello, died in 1987.
She worked for Hubley Manufactory Co. before having children. After her kids were grown, Nancy worked for United Chem-Con and then in the deli at the Weis Markets in Manor Shopping Center. A member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, she also enjoyed attending Mass at the Chapel of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, JoAnne M. Bailey of Mount Joy and Gina M., wife of Donald M. Haubert of Millersville and daughter-in-law Deborah J. Carello; 6 grandchildren, R. Christopher Carello, Nina, wife of Sal Dejewski, Donald J. Haubert, James Haubert, Michael Hall and Andrew Hall; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-granddaughters; and 3 sisters, Estella Hagmann, Patricia Carvel and Joann Gammache and her sister-in-law Gloria Kreiner. In addition to her husband Joseph, Nancy was preceded in death by her son Ralph J. Carello in 1990, and her sister Arlene Winters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 West Walnut St., Lancaster, PA., on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 11 AM, with Rev. Michael E. Messner as Celebrant. Nancy’s family will greet friends from 10 to 11 AM on Friday at the church. Interment in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster County SPCA, 848 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17603.

So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I have many fond memories of your parents living on Fourth Street, and also seeing her, Junie and Catherine always together and calling them the “Golden Girls”. Sorry we can’t make the service but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
