Nancy Lee Rose Simon (nee Bugos), 82, passed away on October 5, 2023. She lived in Cleveland, Ohio for over 35 years and moved to Pennsylvania in 1979. At the time of her death, she was living independently at the St. Anne’s Retirement Community in Mountville, near Lancaster. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was the great pleasure and purpose of her life.
Nancy loved music and dancing. A quilting enthusiast and hospice volunteer, she was also an animated storyteller. She had a playful spirit, a kind heart, and a memory for details. Our family historian, she delighted in every birth, remembering all birthdays and anniversaries. She was a devout Catholic who never missed Mass and a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lancaster, PA.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, George E. Simon, and brother Terry Bugos. She is survived by her three sons, Paul Simon (Elizabeth) of Blue Bell, PA, Michael Simon (Liz) of Potomac, MD, and Daniel Simon (Jenny) of Sewickley, PA, grandsons Sean and Andrew Simon, granddaughter Meredith Gross, brother Tom Bugos (Wendy), sister Donna Peyton (Val), many nieces and nephews, their children, extended family, and friends.

Nancy, caring for you was the highlight of my day. I am so glad I got to spend your last day here with you. My last memory with you is you opening your arms and asking me for some love before I left. That hug is something I’ll never forget. Your passing has really hurt my heart and you meant so very much to me. I am happy that you can once again be with you husband and you will missed endlessly here.
Thank you for allowing me to care for you.
Alexandra Collier
