Naomi A Wellman, 44

Mar. 8, 1978 - February 05, 2023

Naomi A Wellman passed away on February 5th, 2023, after a short illness. She was born March 8th, 1978 in Griffin, GA to Keith and Yoko Wellman, and then spent her early years in Korea and Japan.

Her love of travel continued including trips to Great Britain, Greece, and also Bermuda, where she took her fiancé on his very first cruise. She was a very creative person, who enjoyed playing piano, painting, drawing, collecting artwork, and writing short stories. She made new friends and kept up with old ones by playing online games like World of Warcraft, where designing new characters was half of the fun. Cars were also a passion of hers. She owned or helped in the purchase of nearly as many cars as she had birthdays. Naomi was always surrounded by animals, whether on a small farm as a teen, or with a household full of dogs as an adult.

She is survived by her mother Yoko, fiancé Todd Marsden, “sissy” Michelle Jones, nephew Gary Creekmore, brothers Mark and David, brother-in-law Winston, niece Julie, and many more in her extended family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Naomi online. I hope that she has found the peace she was looking for that didnt always come easy with her pain filled days. I didnt get to meet her in person regrettably, but I know she was a special human being who cared for a lot of people around her and especially her dogs, Ember, Smudge and Nova. She will be missed.

I’m Michelle Jones, Naomi was my Sissy , this is what we called each other. I’m devastated by the loss of my baby sister. She was super close to me and my son Gary,  her nephew. They were close in age, so they played together quite a bit. She and I would have deep conversations from her childhood into her adulthood. She always gave me the best advice. She was so caring and loving to others. She had a creative mind that showed in her artistic abilities. Even the way she looked at the world was something special. She found good in everything she came in contact with. My fondest memories are when we would sit at the kitchen table painting, talking and laughing all day, Gary was involved with this also. The last time we talked she was worried about me and my health and this saddens me because she always worried about others before herself. She brought so much joy to my life and others. I don’t know how I’m going to have the same life without Nana. Todd and Yoko please remember that Gary and I are here for you for anything you need. Even just to talk or text. Todd thanks for taking care of of Sissy, Yoko and Nanas precious dogs. Sissy my heart cries out to you! I will miss you until we meet again. 😢
