Neil Abugov, 75
January 03, 2020
Neil Abugov, 75, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, January 3, 2020. He was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to the late Israel and Faye (Katz) Abugov. Neil would have celebrated 50 years of marriage with his wife Bella (Harovitz) Abugov this coming March 1st.
He attended Sir George Williams University, Montreal, and then Lewis School of Hospitality in Washington, DC. Neil worked in retail sales most of his life, and was currently employed in the hardware department at the East Lancaster Lowes location. Neil took great interest in his customers and their needs.
Neil was Bella’s “wingman” and a dedicated family man, who loved to watch and play with his grandson Ryan, now 16. Neil and Ryan often got into trouble together. He was a calm and collected man with a beloved character trait, who people flocked to and warmed up to immediately. It took a lot to get Neil angry. He would do anything for people. His best friend Tony will miss those 10 PM phone calls.
Neil was the International President of B’nai B’rith International Young Adults and was known throughout Washington, DC.
In addition to his loving wife Bella, Neil is survived by their daughters, Leanne, wife of Joseph C. Schaller, Lancaster, PA, and their son Ryan, Ilana M. Abugov, and her partner Seth A. Gehman, Leola, PA; brother-in-law Phillip Harovitz, husband of Ellie Manis-Harovitz and nephew Nick Noik, husband of Courtney.
Neil’s family will receive friends from 9 to 10 am, followed by the funeral service at 10 am with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan officiating, on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA. Please omit flowers, and kindly consider making a contribution in Neil’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.

Nearly 20 years my senior, Neil always seemed to have unlimited energy. He would run circles around many of us at Lowe’s. Always a pleasant presence and a good resource for his coworkers and customers. He will be missed. May God bless you and keep you, Neil.
Until we meet again, may God Hold you in the palm of his hand.

Dear Bella, Alvin and I were saddened to learn of Neil’s passing. It’s been decades, however we remember both of you —-cheerful, pleasant and there for each other. Alvin remembers being in The same B.B.Y.A group as Neil.
Condelences to your children and grandson. May his memory be for a blessing.
Fondly

Dear Bella and family, Please accept our sincerest condolences at this sad time. Many years have passed since your family lived on Hope in DDO. I remember the good times we shared at Sisterhood with you always being available to lend a helping hand. Your infectious smile would light up the room. May the many memories which you shared as a family help to bring you comfort in the days and years to come . BDE
