Noreen A. “Bunny” White, 87

Noreen “Bunny” White, 87 of Lititz, passed away peacefully at Lancaster General Hospital on August 5, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Hilda Irose, and the wife of the late James T. “Tim” White who preceded her in death in 2005.

Bunny received her associate’s degree from Penn State University and worked as a librarian for over 30 years at Kissel Hill Elementary in Lititz. She was a Lititz fixture and celebrity known for walking her various Salukis over the years, as well as being an easy conversationalist with a big smile. Bunny thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her friends, whether that be sitting on the porch talking or going out to lunch. She was a great cook and developed different styles of cooking over the years. In Bunny’s earlier days, she was an avid tennis player and teamed up with her husband Tim. Bunny also loved her Saluki dog, Arjan, and he will miss her greatly.

Bunny and Tim were married in Basel, Switzerland in 1962. They enjoyed returning to Europe on numerous occasions, particularly revisiting Portugal and Ireland.

Bunny is survived by her son, Kirk White and his wife Svetlana, and their son Alex. She is also survived by her sister Bela Bagova and her husband Ruslan. Bunny is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

A time for friends and family to gather will be held at 1PM to 3PM, Tuesday, August 24th, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will take place at Machpelah Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Noreen’s name to American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603 or Lancaster County SPCA, 848 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17603.

Condolences to the Family

I am so sad to learn of Bunny’s death. I knew Bunny since she came to Penn Manor HS in 10th grade and we were friends ever since. She used to call me frequently and we had wonderful chats. When I did not hear from her recently, I tried to call her several times. Hence I googled her and learned of her death. What a shock.
Bunny was a beautiful lady inside and out and was the brainy one of our class. She was a wonderful person and fun to be with in every way.
I will miss her so much.

I’m so sorry to see that my friend, Bunny, passed. I knew her for many many years, starting at the consignment shop on Lexington Rd. But my daughter knew her from Kissel Hill elementary school. I saw her at Weis markets about a year ago and we talked. We moved away shortly after that and saw she passed online. My sympathies to Kirk, Svetlana and Alex! She was a wonderful lady and friend! I will never forget her!

On behalf of my recently deceased wife (Georgette) who was a Kissel Hill and recent friend I offer my sincere condolences. I had the pleasure of recent converstion with your mom and reminisced about past dinners and get togethers. I also sailed a few times with your dad and enjoyed that too. They both will be well remembered.

my thoughts and prayers are with Bunny’s family. I feel it has been such an honor to be a close frien to Bunny since the early 70’s when we played tennis together. I have enjoyed her friendship for mqny yeqrs beginning with playing tennis together,, my thoughts and prayers are with Bunny’s family. i truly feel it has been such an honor to have had Bunny in my life.

We are so sorry to hear of the death of your mother, Bunny. We live just around the corner on Linden Street and talked to her often walking Arjan. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
