Patricia A. Pilong, 90
July 06, 2024
Patricia A. Pilong, 90, of Lititz, PA, went home to be with her Lord on July 6, 2024. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jackson I. and Irene Redifer Pumphrey. She was the wife of the late Alfred E. Pilong, Sr., who passed away in 2011.
Patricia was a loving and devoted wife and a proud mother of 9 children, a gifted administrator, and a tireless prayer warrior. She was a woman whose life reflected her strong and intimate faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. She loved to sing and worship in church and with her family. Prayer and Bible study were foundational to her life.
She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and rarely missed watching a game. Pat loved to shop, and was always on the hunt for a bargain. She had an elegant eye for style and could never pass up that perfect pair of shoes. She found great joy spending time on the beach and taking meandering scenic drives with the love of her life, Al, husband of 55 years. She was an amazing cook. Her hospitality was embodied in the motto, “There is always room for one more!” The dining table was always full and her home was a welcoming place for so many.
Patricia is survived by her children: Beth married to Steve Gibbs, Jayne married to Mark Kraemer, Marjorie married to David Johnson, Alfred Pilong Jr. married to Lori, Patricia married to Dean General, Joseph Pilong married to Sarah, Eileen married to Mark Bechler, Mary married to Mike Garrett, John Pilong married to Lauren, as well as 25 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Michael, a sister, Ellen Johnson, and a brother, Jack Pumphrey.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 9:30-11AM at Landis Valley Christian Fellowship, 2420 Kissel Hill Rd., Lancaster, PA with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Interment will be Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 12 Noon at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, VA. It was my privilege to meet and care for Pat at Landis Homes. She was a kind, loving, caring, concerned individual. She prayed faithfully for friends, family, the staff and other residents at the home. I will always remember her fondly. I will also keep her family and friends in my prayers at this time.
