Patricia J. “Pat” Miller, 82

Patricia J. “Pat” Miller, 82, of Lancaster passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was born in Lancaster and was the daughter of the late Vernon “Bud” and Alice Mary (Wise) Groff.

Pat was a member of First Baptist Church.

Pat started her professional career as a cook for Schaeffer Elementary and then as Head Cook at Lancaster General Hospital Cafeteria for 15 years where she retired in 1992. After her retirement Pat was a clerk for Child Protect Program at LGH from 1992-2007.

Pat was a 1947 J.P. McCaskey High School graduate. She was a member of James Buchanan Order of the Eastern Star 50 year member, Happy Hearts Club of Lancaster Rec Center, Centerville AARP #4221. She was an avid card player, traveler, and especially enjoyed time with her sister and brothers.

Pat is survived by two sons, Frank Martzall, husband of Cindy, of Mountville, Michael Sellard, husband of Melinda, of Lancaster, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a sister, Johann, husband of Russell Powell, of Seabrook, MD and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon Groff, Jr., Galen Groff, James Miller, and Jerry Miller.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10am from the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pk. Lititz, PA 17543 with The Rev. Cook officiating. Viewings will be held at Snyder’s on Friday evening from 6-8pm and on Saturday from 9-10am. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604. My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I had a lot of good times with Pat. We chatted on the phone about this and that. We traveled together to play many games of cards and eat. We also went to the casino and lost some and won some. We had good times together and she will be missed.
