Paul D. Van Aulen, 71

Paul Douglas Van Aulen, age 71, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on December 10, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Paul B. Van Aulen and Shirley (Everhart) Andrejev.

Paul appreciated nature and enjoyed being outdoors and found pleasure in fishing, hunting and hiking. When not outside, he enjoyed watching sports and was an avid football fan, particularly cheering for the Eagles and Penn State. He also loved to watch Western movies, especially those that starred Clint Eastwood and John Wayne.

Paul loved music and enjoyed listening to country and classic rock, among other genres. He was the family scholar of music trivia.

Paul is survived by his wife, Gayle Van Aulen of Elizabethtown; four sons: Ben “Bub” Van Aulen (husband of Nikki) of Lancaster, Jesse Van Aulen (husband of Heather) of Peach Bottom, Shawn Van Aulen (husband of Liz) of Ambler and Joey Van Aulen (partner of Whitney) of Strasburg; nine grandchildren: Bella, Jack, Jemma, Henry, Axl, Charlie, Josie, Oliver and Natalie; one sister: Kathy Seifred (wife of Dave) of Ephrata; one brother: Barry Van Aulen of Mount Joy, and one sister in-law: Leanne Van Aulen of Lebanon.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his brother, Bob Van Aulen.

Friends and family will gather to honor Paul’s life on December 15, 2024. A visitation will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584 from 10AM to 11AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Paul will be laid to rest at Boehms UM Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory can be made to a charity of your choosing.
