Paul J. Pernel, 75
October 04, 2024
Paul J. Pernel, 75, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. Born in Mineola, NY, to the late Victor and Mary Pernel, after college Paul enlisted into the Navy where he served proudly. Paul then spent nearly two decades working for AutoZone, where he thrived in management roles and later transitioned to a driving position after retirement.
Outside of work, He found joy working in his yard and loved live music and dancing to his favorite bands. His quick wit and love of dad jokes never failed to bring smiles to those around him, and his great sense of humor left a mark on everyone he met.
Paul enjoyed trading stocks, following the market with interest, and was known for giving sound life advice. He treasured family vacations at the beach, where he could relax and make memories with his children and grandchildren. He also had a special bond with his daughters, with whom he loved watching UFC and The Voice—a weekly tradition they all cherished.
Above all, Paul was a devoted father and grandfather. He always provided thoughtful advice, supporting his children through life’s ups and downs.
Paul is survived by his loving children, Christie Pernel, partner of Greg Lehman; Melissa Chambers, wife of Dustin; and Brian Pernel. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Cameron, Delaney, Elliana, Ari, and Michael, as well as his brother Eddie Pernel. Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Pernel, his parents, and his niece, Elizabeth Pernel.
A funeral service to honor Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Family and friends are invited to greet the family from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice & Community Care in Paul’s memory.
